- Abstract
- Tolerance of T lymphocytes to self-antigens is mainly achieved at the level of the primary lymphoid organ, the thymus, and probably to a lesser extent in the secondary lymphoid tissues. Whether self-reactive lymphocytes ignore their target autoantigen, or are tolerized by the various mechanisms discussed, depends on the circumstances. (C) 2004 Academie des sciences.
